okay...REALLY dumb question ...

I went to winterize my 83 H27 yesterday, thinking that I would pump out the fresh water tank via the faucet, and use the bilge pump to get the water into the errr...water.
after running the faucet for about 30 seconds....nothing appeared in the bilge, nor anywhere else!
What am I missing, here?

Also, there are two water "inlet" fittings on deck; one towards the bow on the deck on the starboard side...and one on the bottom side of the anchor well...
Never would have seen it if I wasn't replacing the anchor rode.

Help!

what am I missing here?? :bang:

Did you follow the drain hose to a thruhull?
It might be there but when it breaks while underway, you will want to know where it is.

Don, i lost the drain hose underneath the sink in the galley; it passes into the bulkhead and doesn't reappear anywhere else.

the TRULY weird thing is that the Hunter plumbing diagram dosn't show my "extra" inlet. I have one just forward of the waste pump out ( not too close!) and one under the anchor hatch , as shown on the diagram.

Gonna be awkward if I have a holding tank I don't know about somewhere....:)

Not sure about the H27, but on my H25 the sink drains to an above water thru hull on the starboard side.

The galley sink drains to a through haul behind the drawers. The head sink drains out the port side just above the waterline. Under the vee birth there are two built in tanks port side water, starboard side holding. The water fill on 1984 27 is in the anchor locker. I have no idea what your other on deck is for other than maybe to flush the holding tank.

Clasky got it right

Our '77 h27 kitchen sink drains to a thru-hull straight down behind the drawers. Head sink drains outboard above the waterline.

We have a pump able Porta-potty, and no anchor locker, so I've nothing to add about the other fittings.

Thanks all!
For now, I went with the everclear method during our short term sub zero stint. Last year,I never winterized her at all , since she spent most of February out of the water with all tanks empty...
