Just bought a 1989 Catalina 30. The title has a ID #, but where is the hull number? I need it to register on the catalinayachts.com website.

There's usually a little metal plate on the sill of the companionway and the HIN number which includes the hull number is etched on the starboard aft outside of the hull just below the rubrail. Your ID# may be the HIN and the hull number is the last three digits.
Actually it will be a 4 digit number. As my boat is 1179 and is a 78'.
Mine has one outboard on the transom and also a data plate in the cockpit just below the nav light..

Mine is on the data plate below the navigation light also. But it's only a three digit number 980 A 1978 Catalina 30
Ours is a 1990 C30- small plate on stern facing forward between the aft cockpit locker hinges. Has C30 and 4 digits which is the sail number. Can't remember if the full number is on the the hull near the rub rail like my C27 was. The C27 looked like someone had scratched it in with an engraver.
