Where is the cheapest Alcohol?? Orgio 3000 ques

for the stove... the pint of denatured at Homer Depot cost me $9 and it will probably have evaporated by my return....is there a cheaper source? Should I buy 5 gallons at Duron? Can i use Isopropyl alcohol? Is it Cheaper? I love my little Orgio 3000 but the Coleman Foldable from the C-22 is way cheaper from a fuel standpoint.....that is unless yall know of something????

Never considered the cost because it lasts forever. Don't even know what I have been paying at WalMart. But Rick is right, you have to keep the burners sealed when you are not using them.

The small can, (pint?), at Wal*Mart is $5.95 in my neck of the world. I used to get better deals at Ace Hardware, for a gallon of the fuel. Haven't checked prices at Ace lately but need to. I use my oven quite a bit, it's easy to throw a frozen pizza in there and let her go. At dockside, I use a small GE two burner electric cooktop that wedges nicely on top of the Origo cooktop... the gasket seals were missing from my Legend 35 when I acquired her, I need to find a replacement for them...

A very good question, Jimboyyy. I have been pondering the same. I have been using methyl hydrate in my Origo 4000 but my research shows that ethyl alcohol should burn about 30% hotter. That is significant for the oven. The methyl costs about $11 per gal and the denatured ethyl $32 (Canadian) at Home Hardware. My brilliant son told me to make my own! But I need it now. Any ideas on cheap ethyl alcohol greatly appreciated.

DeNatured Alcohol is about $15 or $16 a gallon at Home Depot here..

I normally go to a hardware store and by denatured alcohol works great and is only 15.00 a gallon

I wish my stove problem was so easy. I've never gotten mine to work. Made my wife sick while I was trying to light it. I put alcohol in the ignition bowl but never got the burner to light. My colman stove fits on top of the burner cover when I need to cook in the galley.
Anybody know of a conversion method to propane?
