The Canadian flag is a bit misleading in my opinion, but still a nice clue!
Maybe am American flag in the middle but higher than the Canadian and other flags...just out of the shot.

You are not making this easy!

ETA I didn't see that @JimInPB got it
He was pretty subtle! Wisconsin isn't exactly a neighbor to Canada, even though Canada lies across the lake, so I think the flag was a bit misleading. Did anybody notice the guy in the background that has the state of Minnesota on his shirt? I thought that might stand out a bit!

Sue and I had a magical trip and saw a little bit of all 5 Great Lakes! In fact, during one day of travel, we saw the end of 4 of the 5 and both ends of Lake Huron. I would have been tempted to drive to Soo Locks to see the end of Lake Superior to complete all 5 in one day, but Sue would have revolted after the day of driving. She wanted s'mores on the beach on Lake Huron that evening, and so we stayed in Mackinaw City. I can't say enough how special that region of the country is.

One highlight of our day was swimming in Siskiwit Bay on Lake Superior. We went to Cornucopia to get fish, and my brother and I swam at the fine powder sand beach in crystal clear, fresh, refreshing water! I'd say the water temp was in high 60's and air temp was mid 80's so it was really pleasant in the water for almost an hour! The depth is so gradual that we were off the shoreline by about 100 yards in neck deep water. As the back of my hat says "Unsalted, no sharks … no worries!"

Bingo! Of course you would know … Sue loves the town. We were lined up for the morning Grand Tour on the Princess. Our 2 captains were Sherm and Jay. They were perfect guides for the trip and I can't say enough how much we enjoyed it. We had a cloudless sky and very calm conditions so the scenery was spectacular.

When we went over to Mackinac Island, we had a sunny, warm day, but a lot windier. In the morning, the waves were sending spray over the boat. We were early and there were fewer people on board, so we stayed dry below. In the afternoon going back, the ferry was filled and we had to sit in open air on top. Of course the entire upper deck was soaked with spray for half the ride back to Mackinaw City. Luckily, it was warm and the water also felt warm enough, but it was a wild ride and everybody was laughing about the spray.

Here's my brother Tom and I at the beach in Cornucopia. I'm on the left. As you can see, I'm better looking and taller, but Sue disagrees that I'm taller. Minnesota is that thin shadow just above the horizon. The four of us together at the dock. And the scene of a s'mores attack on our first night in the great upper Great Lakes.

Cool deal. I forgot that we chatted about you going! For sure, on the water is the only way to see the Apostles, and for a quick in-and-out the Grand Tour is the way to go.

There were kayakers out at Devils Island, in real, ocean-going kayaks. That would be a great way to explore! Tom is in full retirement in Hayward, just an hour away. He's not a sailor, but he should be. He's definitely young enough to start and now he has the time to get to Bayfield often. Later that evening, we had dinner and pie in Cable, Wi. Tom describes the town as "mountain bike madness" It is also the start of the Birkie - Cable to Hayward, which is the reason Tom & Jan live there, now. Cable has such a laid-back vibe, it's just impossible to erase any smiles from our faces.

I had to buy some Upper Hand Brewery products. We brought home Yooper Ale, UPA, Laughing Fish, a summer shandy and their high proof 9.06. We haven't cracked any open yet … waiting for some guests to come over. How is their beer?
