Where does the Jib Halyard Winch Go?

How high does the Jib Halyard Winch go on the mast of a C-22? Does it get covered up by the main sail cover? Is there anything else to consider before I add the winch to my boat? I am planning on adding a chrome one to the mast over the winter. Thanks, Aldo

if you need a winch for jib you need one for main i head up into wind to raise sails but under sail cover a must and just off deck enough to be commfy on knees to rais sail.

why on the mast?why not run the line back towards thecockpit, and if necessary, use the jib sheet winches to help "get it up"
