I was wondering where you store your Ice Chest on your boat. We usually carry a small one for day sailing and keep in the back of the cockpit under the tiller. When we are out for several days it becomes a problem to store the larger one. Last time we kept it under the tiller and put a live jacket on each side to keep it from sliding around. I have seen one boat where they store it under the sink inside but had to cut about 2 inches off the cabinet to have room to slide it under. We have tried removing the steps and just using the Ice chest as the step but then that takes up cabin space and makes it hard to get to the sink, storege, etc.

I am not familiar with your boat layout, but I use some non-skid glued to the bottom of the ice chest and two bungie cords attached to the handles that tie into two eyelets that are screwed to the floor.

Port quarter berth
I slide mine back in the aft port quarter berth. I keep a few cans of beer, soda and water in the sink, drain opened and full of ice for easy access while sailing. Drinks stay cold in the sink for a couple days.

stbd floor or in front of potti
I use some of that rubber mat stuff intended for kitchens and place my cooler on top of that either on the stbd side of the table or under the v-berth in front of the potti. If it's loaded with soda, it's usually better to put it on the stbd side instead of having to move it to get to the head. I've considered looking for a couple of smaller coolers that will fit under the sink instead of using one big cooler. I do like the drink sink idea. I'll have to do that next time I'm out.

I started this just before my long trip last year and I am still doing it now (I have been out for 7 days and I have 5 more to go). I have a Coleman 5 day cooler (supposed to keep ice for at least 5 days). It does pretty good (I get ice every other day unless I find a big block). If you get one and lift up the starboard leaf of the table the cooler will go underneath. You will have enough room to open the cooler up and get to it, it is out of the way in the cabin, and it is also out of the direct sunlight (an ice killer). Let me know if you have any questions about the cooler. btw, I use the space under my sink for the microwave!
