Where do you keep the booze?

Once as a dealer, I sold a Hunter 356 still under warranty. Mrs. Owner called saying the head would not discharge waste per husband. I received a call shortly afterwards from Mr. Owner saying no warranty and forget the demand by his wife to fix the head. Mr. Owner advised he was icing down his booze stored in the head and tank with a sign on the door, “out of order. “
He advised wife’s family were coming to see the boat plus they were teetotalers

I laughed over that one

I always wished my boat had a purpose-designed liquor and wine cabinet, and a bar of some sort. The interior of my boat is really very nice, all teak, nice cabinets, and so forth. But, there's no dedicated booze or wine storage, or bar. I'd love to design and implement a bar with cut crystal decanters, crystal glasses, etc., and some way to keep everything from rattling around when sailing.

I feel your pain Fred, we use construction cranes for boats over 5000kg so I can't launch until the strike is over. I was scheduled to go in yesterday, now I don't know when I will get in and this 30°C weather this weekend would have been beautiful on the water.
On my C&C 27 there was a dry storage locker under the starboard settee that was great for lying down bottles. It followed the curve of the hull so the bottles rested very well as the bottom corner. My current boat has a nice deep locker in the galley where I keep the booze. The previous owner had collected those green plastic mesh sleeves the LCBO used to put on bottles so I use those to protect them.

I’m half lucky, since my new boat is in Gatineau, I can splash it since they have a travel lift, but I still can’t get the mast up.
I’m splashing tomorrow

I would gladly give up the nearly useless navigation station (For most boats) to have a dedicated bar as described by jviss. I've always felt that navigation from below with no visual input is wrong. VHF out of the cockpit is pretty useless. You can have all the electronic MFD's you want but if you can't see them from the helm, what's the point? You can spread charts out on the dining table if you like to keep a course line. I just don't see a role for a dedicated Nav station except for the ego of the boat owners, who like to think they are commanding the Kitty Hawk. It's marketing BS to me.

I understand your thinking, and I agree for most inland and near coastal boating. However, once you start traveling more than say 50 miles in a straight line with a crew of more than one, the nav table and the radio outside the cockpit become very useful.

On my Beneteau 323, the longitudinal section of the cabin table between the drop leaves had a removable cover. The well below it contained a board drilled to fit wine bottles standing up.
I really never kept the good Scotch and Bourbon aboard, and the refrigerator held the beer.

They are nice. I have one on my boat under the saloon table. The base of the table is a small liquor cabinet. Just discovered another cabinet with a board having holes in it that are not sized for wine bottles. I'm going to revamp that cabinet for wine. I may have a second cabinet that may have the same layout - if so, I'll revamp both. Then I'll have a dedicated liquor cabinet and two dedicated wine cabinets. That seems better storage capacity.

I'm obviously not abstemious...

We did our ASA 104 class on a DuFour 382 based in Olympia, WA. It had a wine rack storage area beneath the sole at the bottom of the companion way stairs. Last year, we chartered a Fontaine-Pajot 44 that had storage for wine below the table in the salon.
