I won't post any links for "Kindle to PDF converter" but if you do a google or yahoo or bing or what-ever-the-lates-new-fangled-search-engine is, you should be able to find a host of links for "Kindle to PDF converter" software. Just be careful when you download and install that you do not install any "extras" that come with the software. And, above all, scan each download with a antivirus program of your liking.
Did that and found some of those with procedure on how to but can't seem to locate the Kindle doc on the computer. Some of the time with tech, when you ask "What time is it?", you have to learn how to build a clock!

So if you look in your documents there should be a search bar. Most kindle books are .mobi files. Type in the search .mobi , also try the same in a downloads folder if you don't see it pathed to documents.

Amazon's Kindle for PC reader saves a copy of your books to your hard drive, once you download them. Note that you have to download them from the cloud; new books aren't downloaded to a device unless (1) you told Amazon to send that book to that device or (2) you downloaded the book from the app on that device.

By default, the books are saved in this folder:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Amazon\Kindle\application\content

Replace YOURUSERNAME with your Windows username.

Typically, you will have two files per book: a .apnx and a .azw. Backup both of them. You may want to consider an automated backup service to backup these and your other files.
