Try Boatus.com

See link below..... be prepared to pay a lot of $$. I tried to get a lighthing 19 surveyed, but nobody wanted to do it for less than $300. That was a lot of money for a $1500 boat, so we bought a Hunter 410 instead..... Matias S/V Yukiyu

Pretty inexpensive/good : oxymoron ?

I understand what you are looking for and can refer the name of the surveyor that I used when I bought my 84 H34 in Spring of 2000 at Tidewater in Havre de Grace. He charged me $15.00 per foot. Was it expensive? Perhaps as I had also been quoted $12 & $13.00/foot! Was he good? Most definitely and he gave me one of the most comprehensive report I have seen (and I have had several boats surveyed in my 35+ years of owning boats). He also accepted to discuss his findings with myself and the broker/seller, which led to a price allowing me to do the repairs as noted. What is worth the money to me? Absolutely,... and then some !!! My way of looking at it is that if you are willing to pay someone for their expertise, then getting someone good will wind up saving you much more money that what you'll pay him or perhaps even save you a major blunder. Since we're not supposed to use this forum for advertising, if interested, email me at c.l.auger@videotron.ca and I'll forward his coordinates. Good Luck

Spend the money.....

it will be the best $350 you ever spent if he finds something major wrong.
