I am looking into buying a 1976 Oday 20, seems like a great boat at a great price, but the owner just told me that the rudder is lost/stolen. How hard will this be to replace? Where should I look? Thanks for any help.
Foss provides replacement rudders and you can find them by hunting around on this site. Why not build one yourself? I just finished an 11 foot sailing boat construction and I built my own rudder. It was easy to do and came out pretty good. A plane allows you to shape a nice airfoil shape and a belt sander smooths it out. A little hand sanding and some epoxy (add cloth if you insist) and your done.
