Make 'Em - I Agree
We just finished making a set for our 1983 h34 ... guess what we used. Cutting boards. We found some really heavy duty, white plastic cutting boards (about 3/4" thick) and attached them using the white open jaw 1" rail clips ($16 / pair). The cutting boards were $6 each. I bought three boards, one for each seat and I used the third one to cut legs to support the front edge. So the attachment is two of those clips along the back side of each seat, attached to the bottom rail on either side of the swim ladder opening. There is about a 4" high leg along the front of the seat which supports it along the rear of the cockpit coaming. This makes it a "three legged seat" so there's no wobble. They are very comfy and provide a better view than from the regular seats on either side of the rear bench and better than the raised helmsman seat in the middle of the rear bench. They are also easy to remove, and on my boat don't even interfere with opening the rear seat lockers. Next project is cushions to fit each seat. Total cost: $32 - Rail Mounts (2 sets) $18 - Cutting boards (3) ----------------------------------- $50 - Total
