My starter "ignition key switch" is not working all the time, and I believe I should replace it. Does anyone know where I can go to find a part like this? Has anyone ever had issues with their starter before? Thanks in advance for any response.

The ignition switch on my C30 acts up sometimes also. I've been meaning to change it out but haven't gotten around to it yet. Anyway, any marine supply will have a suitable switch. West Marine has them, look on page 623 of their 2002 catalog. Mine is a simple on/off switch, about 23 bucks.

ignition key switch---or not?

I just replaced mine. I went to an auto parts store, showed them what I had and they were able to match it. Before you disconnect, be sure to label your wires so as to correctly reconnect to the new part. Also, it turns out my switch was not the problem. Looks like mine is more selenoid/starter related. If it doesn't even turnover (nothing happens when you turn the key)it may not be a switch problem

Mike: Before you go out to your local marine hardware store and purchase a new switch you might retighten all the screws on the wires going in to the switch. Vibration can cause them to get loose and thus it appears as a bum switch...good luck....let us know how things turn out....

I got mine at my locat electronics store ( NOT RADIO SHACK ) but a REAL electronics store at a cost of @ $9.00. It was a perfect cloan, and works fine in my 28'

It randomly doesn't start and then it does

After reading everyone's responses...I think the second person may be onto something. When I or someone else gets down below in the locker, it sometimes "miraculously" starts...I will make sure I tighten all the screws to the wires...thanks everyone...
