I need a new batten for the sail on my h 23.5, where can I buy one? I have searched but had no luck.

I would go to a sail maker. This is not something that is going to be easy to match up and if it is a full batten it is not easy to ship.

I've seen some on eBay but shipping might make it easier to buy local if you can.

Bainbridge is one manufacturer. If you are close to a West Marine store, call and see if they have battens or batten material. You will need to know the length but I suspect that one came out and was lost. If that is the case, I would do the following:

1. Measure the length of the entire pocket. Add an inch as you will have to cut.
2. Tell them the width of the batten material is 5/8 inch if I am correct.
3. If shipped, it will be a tad expensive. West Mariine cann send it by the foot
4. If you cut or the ends are not rounded, if you have a grinder or file, round
the end of the batten mateial and on the side of the rounding to prevent chafing
of the pocket.
5. Make sure when cutting to avoid the fiberglass getting into your hand or ouch.
6. To insure that you do not loose it again, drill a small hole in the batten. Then I
would take for example a fine tip soder iron to put a hole in the sail to make a
small hole in order to tie the batten onto the sail so not to loose it again.
When you make the small hole with a hot tip end, you will sear the hole so the
sail material or dacron will not come apart.

West Marine has a small selection of different sizes, check their catalog and if possible go to store and order for delivery there.
