I am having withdrawal now that my 1992 H28 is up on jack stands! I am already thinking about where I want to go next year. I store my boat in Newburyport, MA and sail her up to Boothbay, ME each spring. Does anyone have suggestions on where the best places to visit (an maybe anchor overnight) are along the New Hampshire (yes they have SOME coastline) and Maine. Going North from MA the coast doesn't get real exciting IMHO until about Casco Bay. Attached is a photo of Jewell Island, ME during my trip down the coast. Thanks for any input -- keep the excitement of sailing alive by dreaming about where you will go next year!

Steve, nobody is going to tell you that.

You gotta find them on your own. The best ones don't have many visitors. No one wants to risk messing that up. :) An old friend (The contractor who built our home) and his wife planned to follow our wake to paradise. But instead of experiencing the magic of discovery, they spent the last two years before departing, flying to the ports they thought of visiting and checking out the anchorages. What is that,,,!!!!??? That's no way to cruise either. Explore. Discover. Feel the magic.

Maine is limitless

I have spent two seasons in Maine and love it. You are right about "life begins in Casco Bay" when heading Downeast. Email me thru this forum and we can discuss it. Also check the Maine Hunter Sailng Association (MHSA) web site: http://www.mainehuntersailing.com
