I recent purchased a Catalina 14.3. Hull number 4870. Can I find out how old this boat is. Also, I am looking for a recommendation for new Sails. I sail by myself on a small lake in Northern Michigan. Winds tend to be gusty and shifty.

I am going to guess the listing Catalina 14.3 in your post was a typo and it is really a 14.2.
That said with over 5 thousand built it is one go the more recent builds.
The info at sailboat data will help in looking for sails. This boat has a lot of options for the sailor. I suspect you may find some older sails that you can take out and just mess with, as well as a suit of racing sails should you be ready to take the boat and compete in the local or extended racing world.

Thank you for your post. I asked the question on the Catalina website. Someone was nice enough to look it up for me. My boat was built in 1999 as a 2000 model.
