When trailering, where do you put the rudder?

I am planning on doing some long distance trailering. Where is the best place for the rudder and outboard? Thanks - Kevin.

Inside for long tow

For short tow, from my storage to the ramp which is about 3 miles, I do not remove the motor or the rudder. However, I put the rudder inside the cabin and the motor inside the cockpit storage locker when towing on long trips.

In the V-berth

The entire rudder assembly and the outboard (8hp Nissan) go in the V-berth. I've found it to be the best way to keep weight on the trailer tongue and reduce the chance of fishtailing while on the road. The boom with mainsail flaked on it goes in the starboard quarter berth along with the mast raising rig. That still leaves the entire main cabin and galley clear for a rest stop on the road if I have to. Peter H23 "Raven"
