When do you typically close on a new boat

I am closing on a new Hunter 36. What is the standard protocol on closing? Do you close when the dealer receives the boat or when the boat is "commissioned," transfered to the new marina, launched and setup?I am familar with the protocol for real estate, but not for new boats.Thanks,Mike

Something related to your question - when you go to close, if you still can specify it, have the closing in YOUR county or city instead of where the dealer is located.The sale of a boat can represent a huge sum of sales tax, depending on where you live, and it would be beneficial to your area if they could collect the sales tax.
