Hello everyone, I was just wandering how everyone else utilizes their jib vs. chute. I sail 99% of the time solo so, In the summer I usually use my 155% jib and for ease of use I just use the whisker pole instead of the chute w/sock unless the wind is down to 4-6kts and then I go with the chute. Is there a rule of thumb ?? Also when do most folks strike the chute 10kts..15kts?? I'm not talking racing, I've done that and everything stays up until your on the edge so that's not what I'm lookin for.. Thanks Mike

I am new to it also

I have just started using the chute on my boat when there are two of us and an autopilot. I don't think I could ever fly it solo, because it is a racing sail not a crusing spinniker. We fly it when the winds are light and we know we can't fight the current with out it. So we are talking winds under 7 to 8 knots. I am not comfortable in high winds with it and don't have a dousing sock to make life easier to douse it. Richard
