When changing the drain hose on the head sink

is there a special hose that is used here, or what. The hose that is presently in place looks almost like a piece of auto radiator hose. The hose has a pretty sharp bend going from the sink drain to the through-hull. I think using a piece of std drain hose would put a lot of side-ward pressure on the sink drain because of the sharp turn. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks...

Use white or black sanitation hose

Black is prob'ly a better choice--and prob'ly what's there now. I suspect the stress problem can be solved by using 90s at each end. Why do you want to replace it?

Using an elbow.

My original sink was as you describe. A heavy radiator hose kind of pre-shaped over to the thru-hull in the bootstripe. As Peggy suggests I used an elbow on the new sink. I kept the old hose by cutting off the elbow and shortening to get two new ends.

Tee and engine fresh water flush

Have an '80 33. To be able to flush the engine with fresh water at the end of a sail, a tee was installed under the head sink. The tee takes care of the sharp turn. The side going to the drain has a valve to close so that the water is directed to the engine. Prior to the raw water pump on the engine there are two valves one for the fresh water line comming from the sink and one for the sea water intake line. These are accessed via the engine hatch in the head.

The elbow will work...Thanks to both

Paul and Betty. It's really such a simple solution, I feel like an idiot not thinking of it myself!
