You must mean the 272 standard version. The LE version is equipped with wheel steering from Oday.I own a 272 with tiller steering. I think that there are a couple of other 272 owners who were contemplating switching over. If noone responds to your post, check the archives.$$$$ is right to do the makeover.Tom
on this forum. It came up to around $1,500.00 DIY or around $2,500.00 if the yard does it.Along with my post was a list of all the hardware you will need along with the Edson kit.Cheers,Bob
I have a 272 le and I can say that if there ever was a boat didn't need a wheel ... it is a 272.The wheel add-on limits [cuts down] the range of the rudder and there are times ... like trying to back out of a slip to starboard ... where it would be a lot better to have a little more rudder than the edison add on provides. Before you spend the effort, time and money ... find one to sail on and try to see how it handles at a dock or in tight quarters at low speed. If you have one it's fine ... but to go though all that effort ... VicSeven
