Tighten the brake nut in the center of wheel .

Mike,

If your still stock you dont have a nut breaker on the wheel that will lock the steering. Also, although we all like to think of our boats as "legends", the 336 isnt one. A three year run on them.

I use the clutch on my autopilot to hold the wheel. Also you can do something as simple as lashing the wheel to your helm.

If you have questions about the boat, we have been over ours from stem to stern.

Good luck

Rick's right. A large bungee cord from the top of the wheel spoke to something on the leeward side is what I'd do if my wheel brake died on me when I wanted to heave to. Ain't goin' back to a tiller. :)

One other thing about wheel brakes: too many skippers crank WAY too hard on them. All you need is a little pressure, not a LOCK. Saves the sandpaper that's in there. :)
