Wheel Pilots

Had a simrad WP back in 2005 that was destroyed during the hurricanes.

In looking to replace it,but it seems like the pricepoint for a wheel pilot has gone from $750 range to $1,500+ since simrad has left this product line leaving only raymarine? Am I accurate here?

Secondly, I liked simrad as the controls were mounted on the autopilot itself and were under a membrane keypad. The separate control of the raymarine will have to be mounted outside in the weather unless I find another option. It doesn't really look like it is sealed fully for this type of installation. Any comments on this?

There's also CPT, though they're a little more. No less expensive options out there now. I have an older Simrad WP 10 on my boat that will probably need to be replaced some day when I get over the sticker shock. Luckily, it is still working.
