We are new owners of a 2005 Hunter 260 that was never commissioned and have a couple questions about the helm steering and outboard linkages. Our boat did not come with the stock outboard from factory but was supplied with an Evinrude 9.9 that was mounted but never connected to the shifting, throttle, or electrical linkage..
Question # 1 - The linkage that is leading aft from the Edson steering pedestal has threaded linkages and the Evinrude has flat rod ends with a drilled hole for a pin, are there adapters for the threaded linkages?
Question # 2 There is wiring leading up from the stern and branches to the stern light and runs foreword into the steering locker under the steering pedestal but I don’t see any plug to connect the outboard to the boat wiring for charging the boat battery.
Question # 3 On the Edson steering pedestal there are instructions to disengaged the wheel lock prior to using but I only have foreword/reverse and throttle levers, is a wheel lock not standard equipment on the 260 wheel helm?
