Wheel Brake origin?

The Wheel Brake on my boat is a compression disc fitted to the starboard helm.
It is a very simple device..Not the typical Edson friction pads.

Does anyone know the origin of this part?

Beneteau USA lists the brake assembly for $487 Its not a good photo but that can't possibly be the part I am looking for.

I suspect that the wheel brake is an Amiot although the wheel and pedestal is A Goiot product. It seems strange that on a two wheel helm, only one of them would have a wheel brake.
