ALCON,

Installing Raymarine wheel-pilot on the Admiral's boat. Wheel with keyway centered at the top has the rudder deflected approximately 10-15 degrees to port. How can I correct this deviation? Tried losening the cable below and forcing it but no luck.

Thank you,
Randy

It really doesn't make a difference where the key is .. The really critical part is that the chain be centered over the sprocket when the rudder is centered.. otherwise the sprocket could be hitting the wire-to-chain joint.. While you have things exposed and loose, clean. inspect, and lube the cables. If you want to move the wheel to correct, you'll have to center the wheel, then make sure the chain is centered, then center the rudder by loosening the wire rope on the drive wheel.. then, re-tension correctly ..
