Here's a pic of one of my favorite coves we anchor in( well we tie up to a tree protruding out of the water anyway). We call it waterfall cove. There is two waterfalls that come out of the mountains. They don't run much in late fall. but after the november rains it runs till august. Tim Welsh S/V Cabo Wabo Lake Ouachita Arkansas..........

Bligh Cove

West Coast Vancouver Island, Nootka Sound, July 2005. We shared this place with one other boat the first night and had it to ourselves the night this picture was taken. The next day we got beat up rounding Estevan Point. Can't have everything! Gary Wyngarden S/V Wanderlust h37.5

This was a neat place.

This is East channel (as you can see, now filled in by a hurricane) at Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas. Photo was take from the top of the Fort. The Dufor was our ride for this trip in 2002. r.w.landau

Another view from the Fort.

There was not much there but a huge Fort and alot of history. It was worth the trip. r.w.landau

Snow Island

Lovely anchorage. Like taking your boat into a calm lake with many islands. People swimming(yes, swimming, the outgoing tide raises the temp to about 70) and waterskiing and generally having fun. Tim R.

Without a doubt the "Sand Hole" Llyods Neck NY

tricky as anything to get into. Many times I have seen people on the rock jetty that is submerged at high tide and at low the channel is as narrow as any one way backstreet in Europe, Low tide in a few spots on teh chart say Below is a link to the Maptech Chart. Once in side its a special place though and its as protected as most any place. During the week you can have the whole place to yourself and the weekends it can be a fun hangout with lots of boats enjoying . Here is a just one pic
