My husband just purchased a 1989 Catalina. This boat has an inboard Universal or Yanmar diesel engine and wheel. The rudder is mounted on on the stern - not under the boat. I can find no information on this boat - no pictures of similar boats, nothing. We need to buy a new rudder and have no clue where to find parts lists for this boat. Yikes. Is this an anomaly?

Google is your friend. In about 10 seconds I saw listings of several sites devoted to the C25, as well as over a dozen pages of photos under Images. Also, a very good source for general as well as model specific parts is Catalina direct.com. There's always the factory, too, at 818-884-7700, and catalinayachts.com. There is an advantage to having a boat from a manufacturer that is still in business, even if your model is no longer made, they have a lot of parts still available.
Thanks to all who replied. I have spent hours on line looking at Catalina sights and still haven't seen a similiar boat. Haven't gotten the title from the lawyers yet but, once we get the VIN, I guess the smartest thing would be to go directly to Catalina. Know anyone who wants a 1979 25' Helms?
