What's this on my F26 keel

I hauled my 1986 Bene First26 on Thursday for a bottom painting job.
I noticed something on my keel (steel) that I don't know what it is. See photo
This very regular shape looks like a welding ridge on the keel - both sides look like this (mirrored).

Can anyone shed some light on this.

Bilge? My '87 F345 had a bilge configuration like this. The cast iron keel had a cut out that fit around the bilge. Check your bilge you should see the same shape.

Capt TJ - you've got it. It appears to be the bilge.
Strange way of doing it :confused:, but I guess it works....
