What's the most wasteful project you worked on this winter?

You could do like I did, and jibe the main until it ripped across on of the batten pockets…
”I guess I didn’t control that jibe as much as I thought I could…guess we need a new sail”.

The key to that is waiting until the end of the season so you can order the new sail over the winter layup ;)

Worse yet, after I got the new main, the jib looked pretty shabby…

And I am retiring in March, so I suggested that maybe we should just get the new jib while I am still working:poop:.

That worked last winter, so I sailed on my new 135 jib this past summer…

And then I suggested that a new Max Prop would be my retirement present to myself! I was thinking about a new to me boat…something in the 35-38 foot range…maybe a bit newer….certainly under $100k….so if I wasn’t going to pursue that seriously, then a Max Prop would have to suffice. So the new prop is waiting to be installed in the spring.

I don’t see any of these as “wasteful”, but maybe extravagant and certainly expensive.

We are in Hawaii now, and I work for 9 days when I get back…then no income :yikes:
