I had good success with a product called "The Works," comes in a spray bottle for a buck at the Dollar Store. It ain't "marine grade," but the price is right and, as its name implies, it does work. I also used this product to clean the scum line and it did a nice job there, too.

and done that this week-end... A friend of mine recommended I give Mr.Net, the new "eraser" product...you can find anywhere. I'm still over the results...my stern has never so clean... It is a small non-abrasive sponge that works wonders... Best of luck! gg
