I've been following these Iberian Orca interactions for a couple years now. I find it amazing how bad the reporting is on these, like all these articles are given to the youngest, least experienced reporter to write up. There are threads all over the sailing world with a wide range of opinions. Looks like the powers that be have finally decided to try to do something positive. There are now numerous sources of information, if sailing in the area of Portugal/Spain/Straights of Gibraltar, where they are tracking the locations of the small group that is most active in this behavior so that they can be avoided. Seems like the better solution at this point is to simply be aware of where they are being active and avoid that area.
