What's my MMSI number?

I have a Raymarine 53DSC VHF on my boat. Apparently when it was installed, somebody programmed an MMSI number into it. I cannot find who did it (supplier claims ignorance) or what the number programmed into it is and I am unable to program a new MMSI into it as the radio blocks any further MMSI input. I need to register my MMSI with the authorities so that in case of an emergency, when I use DSC they know who it is. Anybody know how to retrieve the MMSI number from this type of radio or any other way to find out the MMSI? I have asked Raymarine and the supplier with not much luck. Any help appreciated.

MMSI numbers are not invented, but made avaiable by the MMSI authoritiesin London. I am not in my office now and don't have their e-mail address. They have issued the number for your boat and if you give them your name and the boat's name they could tell you your MMSI number! Regards, Wim

Did you try calling Raymarine in Nashua NH USA

Their customer support is good if you get the correct person. The Number in North America Telephone: 603 881 5200 Toll Free: 800 539 5539 Facsimile: 603 864 4756 Also did you try posting this question on the website I posted below. They have a lot of answers there and you can post your own. I even found how erase the existing MMSI number in their RAY220 VHF/Hailer model ps. You do know you have to get the MMSI # from some government agency for your particular country. (If you are from USA I know Boat US will do it for you on their website)

CDL, I just found this. I think you have to send

the VHF back to raytheon Service Repair Centres. NOTE : Ensure the MMSI number inputted is correct with the verification playback. Once the number is accepted it cannot be changed except by resetting at the Raymarine Service Repair Centres. take a look at link below
