Does anyone have any idea what the significant differences are between the Raystar 125 and the newer Raystar 150 GPS "puck"? Will the 125 talk to the newer eS series MFD, or does it even need to?

The 150 is just a gps antenna. It must be connected to something with a real gps in it. The 125 is a seatalk/183 that reports a lat/Lon position, time........

That doesn't make sense ... Why would it cost more than the RS125 did since the 125 is indeed a full blown gps? It would seem that the 150 would still be a complete gps. I think I have to do more research.
That said, would the 150 be needed to supplement the functionality of a self contained gps in a current multifunction display? Could the 125 be linked through a seatalk converter (or 0183) to communicate with a newer mfd?
The RS125 is also designated a "receiver" .

Sorry I was looking at a Raystar GA150 not RS150. The RS150 is a Seatalkng GPS receiver so the difference is seatalk -vs- seatalkng

Take a look at the raymarine web site and you'll see that the 150 has more features. Now if you have an older display unit the 150 may now work the 125 has 0183 and st1 and with that add the converter (st1 to st ng extra $100+ ) can hookup to any n2k or MFD.
