I am looking for a replacement cleat for the leech line on my Catalina 310 jib. It may be a Gransegel Cleat (http://www.sailrite.com/Gransegel-Cleat-Large) but the large size at Sailrite only has 3 holes in it and I am not sure how the size matches up. Originally it went over the edge of the sail on both sides and then was sewn on. The attached piece was the single side that survived long enough for me to find it.

There is a patent number on it that looks like 4096229.

Stop by your local sail loft. I'm sure they will be happy to sell you one and install if for you at nominal cost.

Does one really need it? Mine fell off a while ago and I can't see where it affected the sail shape or anything else. In fact, there seems to be less chafe without it.

On the Potomac it helps

Occasionally, due to the variability of the wind it is helpful to pull it in or let it out to change the shape of the sail.

You should be able to get this cleat from a sailmaker who can also replace it for you.

I have an inquiry in to Sailrite. I would be nice to get one before Friday as I am racing in the Leukemia Cup Saturday and we normally have light air up there. I if can find one I will get an extra and mail it to you. Ray

Got it from Sailrite

Called them and they have two on my way for$5.50 each. Had to call and talk to Jeff as they are something they normally don't carry.
