Ok my wife dislikes it, actually it amuses her & she tolerates it, that when on out cruises Down East I talk in my best Maine-ah accent almost 24/7. It's ritual.

So anyway we finished off our second bottle of Malbec, ate some grilled king salmon steaks and now my wife and daughter are asleep. With nothing better to do but sit in the cockpit, and enjoy the running lights coming and going, I loaded up a few photos I took while grilling the salmon..

Ayuh! Used to live a mile down the street from Bass Habah Light. If I spend more than 2 weeks back there I start dropping my R's again . . . Not many islands or habah's here in Oregon to hide from the weather so we sail on a lake.

Let's not forget

Let's not forget this is Maine. If you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes and it will change.

This is the same boat as above only taken this morning at 6:30 a.m... Really soupy and rainy here today.. Still beautiful though.. We were only one of two boats to leave Boothbay today by 10:00 a.m.. I think most of the cruisers are hunkered down.



P.S. My shower this a.m. consisted of a swim in Boothbay Harbor to clear an 18' trailer of eel grass from the motors intake and to give the bottom a little scrub..

That brings back memories, the only thing we didn't use on our Maine cruise was the sun-tan lotion. Good pics.

Of course there's plenty of eye candy

Of course there's plenty of eye candy in Maine, even in the fog & rain.. Just came back from some dinghy gunkholing, in the soup, and spotted some beautiful scenery. In the harbor the vis is not to bad. Earlier three boats headed out, with a glimpse of brightness & a glimmer of hope, only to see two of them come back in. Outside the cove we're in the vis dropped to about 200 feet but inside it's at least 1/8 mile.


Would upload more but the cell connection is not all that fast here..
