I can't find a number for my Evinrude 9.9 yachtwin, i need a part that is availible for one made in 1974 to present. I think they were first manufactured after that date. Can anyone help with this information? Thanks

Google SIERRA MARINE and look it up. It's ALL there.

And you can go to NAPA with the Sierra part number and they'll order it for you.

What part you looking for?

A 9.9 impeller repair kit, (water pump rebuild kit) will be easily and readily available. I'll look it up when I get online later.

Peter McDowell at North York Marine should have them too. Www.nymarine.ca

EDIT: I went and checked North York Marine's site. The 9.9 motor in question is too new for Peter... See below

Okay, from the SIERRA MARINE BOOK, and cross referenced:

The Sierra Water Pump kit will be Sierra part number 18-3400
The OEM Water Pump kit is Evinrude/Johnson part number 0394711

If your motor has very little use, and that is common, you might just need to replace the impeller. If that is the case, your impeller is Sierra part number 18-3050. The OEM part number is 0386084

If you need other parts, here is the best place I know to go to look. Just google SIERRA MARINE CATALOG and you will find it, but here is a link:
http://www.marineengine.com/parts/sierra-marine/johnson-evinrude.html

As I shared, if you go to, (okay, maybe call first) your local NAPA auto parts store with the SIERRA MARINE part number they will usually be able to look it up in their computer system. Since you are running a Johnsrude, it will be in your best interest to find that guy who will work the system, and then stay with him. A local parts outlet is great to have.

As proof:
I just googled the NAPA website, www.napa-online.com. I DIRECTLY typed the pump impeller part number 18-3050 in the FIND a PART box at the top of the page. Voila, it popped right up. Same thing for 18-3400 pump kit.

I know the OMC/Sierra/NAPA connection personally with my local store but had never tried it on-line yet. Sure enough.... :)

For reference the best site for anything to do with a 9.9 Johnson or Evinrude is Leroy's Ramblings. His writings and pics have coached me through the impeller job (which on a long shaft has a few curve balls), fuel pump, carburetor rebuild, Starter, flywheel removal and even how to decipher the serial number. Everything is there. He has a ton of experience with these motors.
