I am looking at a 1994 33.5 that the owner said had no engine hour meter. I found that hard to believe until I looked on here so people were asking how to add one,. Did Hunter finally make this standard equipment? Does anybody know what year this happened.
What year did Hunter start making Engine hour meters standard equipment.

Electromechanical hour meters can be found cheap and are easily installed at the key switch wiring. I believe different models were equipped by the factory at different times depending on the instrument package.

My recollection of many small and midsized sail boats from the 70-90’s, had small engines often adapted from a non marine environment (i.e tractor) without hour meters. That is unless the owner requested or installed a meter.
When you crossed that 35ft and up length the engines started to get larger and this feature started to appear as a result of the users and the mechanics expecting them.

Ericson was installing hour meters in the late 80's in their boats. My '88 has one. Not sure when they started doing this.
Whether you keep a written engine log or (also) refer to your hour meter, oil change intervals are important no matter what displacement your engine is.
