What would you "glue" in your bungs with?

Normally I'd do it with the Cetol I'll be finishing with but time constraints dictate that I need to "glue" them, trim them and sand them all in one day. The sliders and grab rails were completely removed and pre-finished, the toe rails were sanded in place but missing a hand full of bungs. I still feel they need to release for future service without trashing the surrounding wood. How about hot glue? Thanks in advance.

A small dab of sealant works

just fine, don't overdo it or the bungs won't seat. When you need to remove them, just drill them out.

I did just that

when I removed and refinished the hand rails and hatch slides last year. A little shot of hot glue, removed the excess material, sanded and treated with teak oil. So far so good.

Classic Method Is Varnish...

...but I imagine any waterproof glue would work fine. RD

Use Varnish

Read about this recently one of my books. The reason for using varnish is for the ease of future removal.
