I recently bought a Hunter 22. I'm replacing some of the wood both interior and exterior and without thought assummed it was teak. After cleaning and oiling some of the wood it seemed reddish in color like mahgony. All the existing wood is original and I want to replace all damaged and missing wood with original. Thanks for your help. Pete

Teake

I spoke with Hunter when I re-finished the interior of my H22. Hunter said that everything was teake. I found out that Hunter used Daly's Sea Fin Teake Oil on the interior. I got some for the interior and it is awesome stuff. I put 6 coats on the teake and it looks great (Really nice warm glow). I used Daly's sea fin varnish on the exterior wood (good stuff also). Found them on the web and I would highly recommend them!

Thanks....

Thanks for your reply. Now all I have to do is shape a few dozen pieces of teak. I'll post some pictures when it's done.

Bulkhead rot

My H-22 had both bulkeads rotted out at the bottom and also at the chainplates. I replaced with plywood using my old bulkheads as a pattern, and painted white with an oil based paint. It sure brightend up the boat. Hunter will gladly give you additional info if you call them.
