OK, what pi$$es you off the most on this forum? Everyone has their trigger pulled every so often. So what is your boiling point?
I have 2 main peeves that really piss me off.
1). Someone taking a really interesting, highly debated and highly controversial thread and turning it political. We can, for example, debate the issues of high cost of fuel affecting boaters, or alternate forms of energy, without some frustrated political radical mentioning political parties and political positions.
2). Some Bozo the clown trying his best to be a really cool and telling us to take this thread to the 'dark side'. If they think it belongs there, there is a button to "Report Violation" and let Phil decide.

This thread could turn out to be a really interesting rant. I hope so.

borish behavior

I think sailortonyb does it for me. Your attitude when you disagree with a post is usually over the top. Funny that you mention someone suggesting a non sailing post be transferred to the lounge. When I read your reply I thought that would be the last time I would read a tonyb reply; not worth my time. But since you started this thread; you're an ass.

Is it a slooow day on the oil platform?

I hate it when someone posts a totally non-related response to the OP.

A Jewish guy is having his lunch in a park and there is a blind man sitting on the same bench. In a spirit of sharing he offers the blind man a matzoh which he takes and fondles for a few moments. The blind man hands the matzoh back to the Jewish guy and says: "Who writes that crap?"

LOL, funny.
Yes, a very slow day. It finally stopped raining from TS Edouard and the winds have calmed down.
When my parents used to visit me in Little Rock, they always flew down with matzoh and knish's.

It's a nice community here

and I've even started to reduce my rants about homework and research!:):):)

The satellite imagery shows Edouard moving west of you

so things should be calming down a bit. Now if we can only get the rain from that system up to Lake Lanier, GA!

One thing that bothers me is posters who hi-jack a thread.
That said;
Three women are in the locker room of an exclusive swim club when a naked man runs through with a towel over his head. All three women notice the man's genitalia.
The first woman says: "I am so glad that was not my husband."
The second woman says: "There is no way that was your husband."
The third woman says: "He is not even a member here."

Mmmm, potato knish with mustard!

The main part of the storm

passed over us on the platform this morning. No more wind and no more rian at the moment. Now it's heading for my boat in Kemah. This is a no win situation. LOL
Caleb...do you remember the little old men with the little aluminum wagons selling
"Mom's Knish's"?

TonyB, don't tell me you grew up in Brooklyn, NY?

I guess all my 'off topic' posts helped get this thread booted over here. Sorry for my part in contributing to the lunacy. I just thought those jokes were pretty funny.
I don't remember "Moms Knishes" but they still sell that stuff on the streets of NYC (along with lots of hot-dogs or what I now refer to as street meat).
Is it time yet to put lipstick on the pig?

Dirty Water Hot Dogs

That's how we used to refer to Sabrett hot dogs.

Changing the subject

then getting on a pedestal and preaching their way and actually thinking they are changing everyone's mind into their way of thinking. 2) Using data and statistics as a weapon, and not understanding the data is skewed and one sided. 4) Just plain old dumbness, ie, Jim from NJ. sometimes he's comes across intelligent, most, not. Having to fill in the blanks. 5) twisting what someone says to have it reinforce their skewed view. 5) what most pushes my buttons is, asking a question about something they say (looking for clarification) and not getting a response what so ever. Total disrespect. Pisses me off. 6) Also what is simple to one, PHD, engineer, chemist, might just be pea soup to another regular average person.
Some of us sailors made it through the 60's ok, but in somewhat rough shape. We are trying to understand the eggheads and pencil pushers, but must keep it simple so we can enjoy ourselves and still be contributors to society. Our opinion counts just as much as the goodie two shoes opinion does. Some are working on all 8 cylinders while some are missing a cylinder or two. While others might have a weak spark, but are still firing on all 8 cylinders.

Keep it up,
Ctskip

Add "offensive" to the list.

Obnoxious offensive people really piss me off. I'm not sure if they are just bragging and don't even realize how offensive they truly are or just being coy about it.
In either case, when I want to be offensive, there is NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT. You won't have to think twice. It is perfectly clear.
I just came off another post with a really offensive person on it. This time, after Phil playing referee yesterday, I decided to just blow it off. It did however piss someone else off though.

Damn, Im sorry all you guys are pissed off!!!

If you people cant handle these very unimportant to life posts, then I feel for you, and would question how in the hell do you handle life in general????? Remember no one is perfect, and I certainly have made mistakes in pissing people off, but none of it intended!!! Sometimes we just mistake what a person says, and that happens a lot in life!!!! There are to many things in life of interest to let these little posts make you angry!!!!!!!! SMILE ON!!!!!

Thanks Dennis. I guess that solves it for all of us.

Some people are contentious and some are not. I doubt anyone here would dispute that. You, of all people should know that. I see you battling the evil forces of creationism on this forum regularly, even though it is a verbal battle that you (ought to) know you can't win.
I believe that TonyB started this thread as a kind of 'meta' thread; a discussion about threads and what pisses people off about some folks replies. I hope you read the OP as well as my (I thought) well timed jokes because one thing that does irk me is folks who post at the end of a thread without reading the beginning.
Good advice though.
Vertical smile on!!!

CkSkip, I don't care....

I know who I am, I know what kind of boat I sail, I know what degrees I have, I know how much I make, and I know how much money Bush made for me with oil and shorting the US dollar. So let me please thank you for voting for him and please feel free to post away.

Does that "trips your trigger"!
