Chevy 20
Or for that matter any middle weight (3/4 ton) should be able to do it easy. My 20 series 'sport' (read short vs. full size or extended) has the big v6 with fuel injection and is a 1990, and doesn't even bat an eye except when pulling it out of the water. It's not so much the engine, but the rest of the vehicle you have to deal with. The transmission is going to be a heavy duty in a 3/4, as well the axel, brakes, etc.A lot of people buy a 1500, 150, 10 or whatever serious from whatever make and wonder why after a few years of pulling a boat the tranny or rearend goes out. It's because it's a 'light duty' truck. With a medium or heavy duty truck, your tranny will probably be geared lower as well, so don't expect to be able to speed much. Mine cruises at about sixty, and I don't think I'd ever be able to get it to go faster then 80.Few things to consider too, definately get a tranny cooler, the bigger the better. Get the size that it says is for a motorhome. Possibly a bigger radiator for your engine too. The reason that the tranny or engine will go is because it overheats and cooks itself.Anything else is pretty much your choice. Look at 3/4 ton or even 1 tons if you really want something beefy.Josh
