what to use on interior wood?

I'm curious what you would recommend using on interior teak. It's going to be oiled. The cetol looks great on the exterior, but I don't want it inside.Anyone have an interior teak oil recommendation?Thanks,Mike ElmoreWindward HullC28-Hull #7

Minwax

Try "Minwax Wipe On Poly" I spent 5 days last year at about 1.5 to 2 hours a day doing 4 coats on my Catalina 30. You can buy it at your local Home Depot or Lowes. I went over the teak first with E.S.P liquid sand paper then applyed Poly with a cotton rag. Let that coat dry a day then repeat. You can sand inbetween coats with a fine sand paper.I "didn't" sand inbetween four coats and it turned out real well! The first two coats will look blotchy but the third will really start to shine.

teak oil

When I got my 87 2 years ago the interior looked bleachy white and the exterior looked like driftwood. Teak oil on the interior is all you need. Cetol on the exterior was great. You may want to put on more teak oil a good length of time later ( interior does not bleach out from constant sun like exterior ) Its a lot easier than multi coats of something that you will have to fight to get off some time in the future.

Lemon oil

I use lemon oil, just wipe on, it's excellent for keeping wood from drying out. And it smells good also.

My nephew is a woodsmith up in Vermont, and this is what he recommended to me. By the way it worked excellent.1) Howards Renewal Oil (as much as two coats2) Elbow grease (a little)3) Finish off with Orange Oil.Good Luck,Capn Ron
