H460
Thanks for the comments Patrick. One questions is the heads holding tanks capacity. Do you find that these are large enough? On our previous boat (39 foot power) we enlarge the tank to 60 gal which made long cruises great. Thoughts?
The boat has two separate heads, each one has a 20 gal holding tank. The
systems are separate, each one with a macerator for discharge or deck pump
out. 40 gallons is more than enough holding capacity and if you're more than
3 miles off shore you can empty the tanks with the mascerators. The cost for
the rudder was $4000 in 2008. The boatyard cost to do the labor was about
$600. It's not a difficult job dropping the rudder and installing a new one.
I was present during the job and its very straight forward procedure. A friend
had Foss build a replacement rudder last week for his H44 and its being put
Back in the water tomorrow in Palm Beach Fl. We are leaving this Friday on the boat and taking it to Key West for a week. I hope Foss did a good job! My H460
is slipped at the Marriott in San Diego. I'm presently at my Florida home and
will be flying back to my Ca home from Key West in time to do the Baha Ha Ha
on another friends boat. My plan is take my H460 next year on th HaHa and
bring her to Cape Harbour Florida were slip fees are resonable and there's no
personal property tax on boats and no tax income tax!
