You might want to also inquire about and think carefully about what the countries in question call "weapons". The Hawaiian sling is but one of those possibly "prohibited" items. The lists are not that easy to find and there is a broad interpretation of what is and what is not allowed. Also note that if you attempt to cross a border with some of these "weapons", you will not be allowed to keep them even if you wish to change your mind and return to the US. The border clerks will keep them and you will not get them back. I am not sure about the chair in the link.
