What to clean with

Hello all,

I am going to rub down and wax my Catalina 22 hull but need to wash it first. What would be the best cleaner to wash the hull with to remove the oxidation and rough feel from dirt. Then I have a step by step page I had sent to me from another member on the rubbing compound and waxing. Thanks for everyone's comments to come.

I assume you are using the toutorial by Maine sail, just follow it carefully from the beginning (especially the buffer and other products recommendations) and the results will be worth it.
I dont think a wash is necessary before you wetsand (unless the hull has chunks of dirt on it) but you may want to rinse it off and wipe it down with a rag to knock free any surface dirt.

I redid my hull last year as it was pretty badly oxidized when i bought it the year before. People were walking up and complementing it while I was still polishing much less waxing. The second year results are even better than the first.
