What socket and bulb?

I have a 1976 Catalina 27 that needs the steaming light socket and bulb replaced. What standard bulb and socket would I use.

I called Catalina Direct and they told me that the socket is no longer available but they have the bulb. I tried to find out the number for the bulb so I could buy it locally but they say they don't know.

I have the lens. is there a ring that goes around the lens to hold it against the mast?

When I got the boat it had been 2 years or so with no lens and no bulb in the steaming light socket so I'm assuming that it all needs replacement and I don't want to make two trips up the mast.

Hi, Harris. Use your binoculars and find out what fitting your have. 3 manufacturers were available, Hella (prob not) Forespar and AquaSignal. Once you know what you have look at a WM or Defender catalog and buy the right bulbs. Catalina used both Forespar and AquaSignal over the years. We have an AS.
