Dan, it seems a lot large; Doyle built one for my 29.5 based on I=34.00ft, J=10.33ft;it came out to 549 sq ft. (it's on the for sale). You need a chute that will fly with the halyard all the way up and still clear the lifelines. with the sail fairly full, the chord length should be back to no more than the aft edge of the cabin or you won't be able to sheet it properly (to a turning block on the stern qurter rail
