What size handle for Whale pumps?

I have a Whale hand pump as a backup but the boat did not come with the handle. Does anyone know what size rod/tubing the handle is supposed to be? Looks to be around 1/2" but I can't get a measuring device deep enough to measure the hole in the metal

Mine came with the pump. I’ll let you know tomorrow morning.

Mine also is about 10-12 inches.
I think we have a different pump. The handle is part of the pump.

I'm looking for the OD of the end of the handle that goes into the pump. I can grab the model later today

Can you reach down far enough to paint the lip of the recieving hole for the handle? Maybe coat it with some shoe polish or other colored paste (mascara?). Then reach down and press a sheet of paper over the opening of the receptacle and make a negative. Bring that up and measure the diameter of the imprint.

No model number listed on the unit. There's at least an inch of rubber that is blocking me from getting an accurate measurement of the pump handle receptacle

Do you have scrap PVC in your shed? You could try running a short piece of pipe into the hole until you find a size that fits.

I will probably get out to Tally Ho tomorrow and can get you a measurement.

Here are some photos to help you out Dave…

Looks like about 1/2”, but slightly bigger. I don’t have my calipers on the boat.

I am not sure what model I have, but took a photo of it too for reference.

I saw this on Amazon…

lists 19mm or .748 inches…. No guarantee it fits your pump, but I bet this is the diameter.

Thanks Greg! I'll order a 1/2" stainless rod. McMaster has them for around $10 for a one foot section. The second handle you posted is what I had on my O'Day. The pump has a male fitting that fits inside a 3/4-1" aluminum tube that makes up the body of the handle

I was out on my boat today and remembered to get you some pictures of my Whale MK3 Gusher Pump. A different model than Gregs but may help you for a comparison.
