What size defenders for a B321 ?

Hi. Is there a correct size for defenders based on the size of the boat ?
My 1999 Benetau 321 came with a collection of diferent sizes and colors . Will be getting new ones so would like to buy the correct size.

Get the 8 inch ones I think they are 20 or 24 inches long and if any of you older ones are Taylor made take them to west marine and replace them under the life time warranty if they don't hold air and make sure it's west marine you go to not an independent

Thank you. Will look into it, did not know they would do that. They are pretty old, so will see if the brand name is still visible.

Normally called fenders, rather than defenders...
West Marine changed their policy. if you didnt buy them there, they wont warranty them. but.... if they look old and "you bought them from west marine 15years ago", they have no way of checking the dates.... so get the wording right when you talk to them.

I had to send mine to taylor for replacement... I paid the shipping to get the fenders to taylor, and they paid to ship me new ones.
the fenders either have to be leaking, or have sun or stress cracks in them... any damage by abuse, other than bursting, is rejected. no cuts or line burns or rips/tears by dock hardware... old, stained and dirty is not a warranty thing.... (luckily for me, or my wife would try to trade me in)

taylor pt# 1023 is 6.5"X 23" and pt# 1028 is 8.5" x 27" either size will work for your boat, but for rougher conditions, get the larger ones. a minimum of three fenders should be used.

if you need to clean them get some paint brush cleaner by klean strip and use it it works wonders on them ...thanks for pointing out the nomenclature thing Centerline

yep its all fun and games until the OP goes into west marine and says hes looking for defenders.... and the guy at the counter says, oh yea, we have some over on deaisle where deanchors and deladders are, and while your over there, check out delines and defender holders too.... so you can hang them on deboat......

at some point it seems like it might be downright embarrassing to be deguy that called them defenders... so, you've been warned

As to the name , I sensed something was wrong when searching for " defenders" on the Defender website and really did not seem to go anywhere. I hope I am not kicked out of the forum for using the wrong word-
I really never noticed the difference when someone would refer to " the fenders" . In spanish, they would be called " defensas" , so I guess that might have added to my confusion. In any case, I had a good laugh with your comments after a hard days work.
