What size anchor

What size anchor do I need for a storm I have an FX 23 but was told I need an FX 37 for the soft mud.

I think that a Fortress FX 23 is plenty big enough for your boat. It's supposed to be for boats 39 and 45 feet long. I have a Fortress anchor on my O'Day 222 that came off a Chris Craft 24' that a friend of mine gave me several years ago. I'm not quite sure what number it is but it could be an FX 23 also. I know that when he bought the anchor new, he went a size larger for his boat. These are great anchors and they have excellent holding power in mud. The FX 23 anchor will work great on your boat.

That's a huge anchor. Does it fit in the anchor locker? Fortress recommends a size seven.

Guys, those recommendations are usually for 30 knots wind or less.

i like the bruce anchor for rock bottom, not sure how it works in mud.
